Karen Roach, Texas TCF Co-Regional Coordinator presents the CER plaque to Gila Corporation CEO Patrick Swanick (left). Keven Coggin, who nominated Gila (center) holds the plaque. Although a new employee when his 2 1/2 year-old daughter Grace died in 2006, Keven received tremendous support from his new work family. Gila Corporation (Municipal Services Bureau) is located in Austin. The presentation was held May 1.
A CER plaque was presented to Sentara Obici Hospital of Suffolk Virginia May 27. Accepting the plaque were (from left) Vice President of Medical Affairs Thomas Thames, MD and Hospital Administrator Rosemary Check. Health Educator Lucy Drewry, RN submitted the nomination in response to the support she received from the hospital following the death of her 12-year-old son Luke in 2006. Chuck Collins (right), co-regional coordinator for The Compassionate Friends in Virginia, made the presentation.
Staff of the Hawaii State Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs received a Compassionate Employer Recognition plaque on May 12. Dawn Marina Erstad-Wegger (center behind plaque) nominated the department after the death of her stepson of 18 years who died unexpectedly in February of 2006. Those who gathered together for the plaque presentation were (from left) direct supervisor Cathy Tang, Charlotte Boyd of the Honolulu Chapter of The Compassionate Friends, supervising investigators Ross Umebayashi, Dina Tokita, and Debora Sanehira, Dawn, DCCA director Lawrence Reifurth, complaints and enforcement officer Jo Ann Uchida, and deputy director Ron Boyer.
Gwinnett TCF Co-Chapter Leader, June Cooper (center) presents the Compassionate Employer Recognition plaque to CEO and Executive Director of the Georgia Baptist Convention, Dr. J. Robert White. Left is Elizabeth Locke, who nominated the Georgia Baptist Convention for being a compassionate employer in helping her following the death of her son Caleb who was born prematurely and died at 6 months in April, 2006
Carol Niles Jones, chapter leader of the Garland Mesquite Texas TCF Chapter presents the 2008 Compassionate Employer Recognition appreciation plaque to Dr. Charles Cooper, Chairman of the Board of MetroCare Services in Dallas, Texas. Cindy Harmeyer nominated her employer, MetroCare Services, for the extensive support and the company and its Human Resources Department provided her after her son was killed in early 2007.
A CER plaque was presented March 28, 2008 to Ticor Title Insurance Company in Portland, Oregon. Carrie Warmenhoven (left) nominated Ticor, Portland TCF Chapter leader Woody Turner (center) presented the plaque to John Bushnell (right), Ticor Vice President/Operations Manager. The company was nominated for the compassion it showed Carrie following the death of her son Brandon in 2007.
Sandra Stinson (from left), chapter leader of the Rome, Georgia chapter presents Compassionate Employer Recognition plaque to nominator Tina McBurnett, and Lauren Abrams, Principal of Midway Primary School in Silver Creek, Georgia Tuesday, March 25. Tina placed the school in nomination for 2008 CER following the death of her son, Jerry, in March of 2007.

TCF Georgia Regional Coordinator Muriel Littman (left) presents a 2007 Compassionate Employer Recognition plaque to Principal Cheryl Williams (right) of Mimosa Elementary School in Roswell Georgia. David Ferguson (holding plaque), a teacher at the school, nominated Mimosa Elementary for the honor based upon the tremendous support he received from the administration and staff following the death of his son Davy, in 2004. The presentation was made April 25.

A 2007 Compassionate Employer Recognition plaque was presented to Wisconsin Public Service Corporation (WPS) of Green Bay, Wisconsin June 4, 2007.
